In a move that is sure to send shock waves through avid fans of the notorious novel, Emma Watson is rumoured to star as the innocent Anastasia Steele in the film adaptation of 50 Shades of Grey.
The Harry Potter star may prove that she is all grown up by taking on the mature role of playing the naive young student, Anastasia Steele, who falls in love with the dangerously handsome business mogul, Christian Grey in EL James’s best selling novel.
Playing Miss Steele would be the latest among the slew of other adult roles Emma has taken since completing the Harry Potter franchise, and definitely the highest profile.
If anyone is having difficulty imagining Watson as an S&M fan – that’s the point. According to showbiz rumours, producers Mike De Luca and Dana Brunetti are drawn to Emma’s innocence as much as they are to her talented acting skills and we couldn’t agree more!
Although there’s no casting news about a potential Christian Grey, rumours abound that Ryan Gosling, Channing Tatum, Michael Fassbender, Ian Somerhalder and Christian Bale have been connected with the role. We would be happy to see any of these fine gentleman take on the role of Mr. Grey!
