BFI LONDON FILM FESTIVAL: LABOR DAY

Kate Winslet, Josh Brolin and Tobey Maguire star in this coming of age romance directed by Jason Reitmen (of Juno and Up in the Air fame). The plot follows Henry, who’s mother Adele (Winslet) has turned into somewhat of a recluse after the emotional breakdown of her marriage to Henry’s father. One fateful day, the pair take a rare trip out shopping and stumble across the wounded Frank (Josh Brolin). Over the course of the Labor Day weekend, after Frank has charmed his way into the unstable family home, a number of things come to light that change the lives of both Henry and Adele forever, and sees Henry grow from a sensitive young teenager into a more adult version of himself.
