THE VULGAR: FASHION REDEFINED

This is the first exhibition of its time and has sought out to have guests consider the challenging territory of vulgar taste and rethink what makes something considerably vulgar.
The fashion exhibition will take guests on an eye opening journey that will ultimately blow your mind as you take a fascinating look at the literary definition of the word “vulgar.”
Beginning in the Renaissance you will be transported throughout time as you weave together a series of historic designs and understand how the word vulgar has become associated with the height of fashion.
The Vulgar opens at Barbican Art Gallery on 13th October 2016 – 5th February 2017.
