Starring Macon Blair, Devin Retray, Amy Hargreaves and directed and written by Jeremy Saulnier, Blue Ruin is a Picture House film that follows the life of Dwight Evans, a mysterious outsider whose life spent observing is upturned when he returns to the home of his childhood to carry out an act of vengeance.
He’s not quite up to the task, proving himself an amateur assassin at every turn, and ends up in a sinister struggle and brutal fight to protect his estranged family.
The film won the FIPRESCI Prize in the Directors’ Fortnight programme at the Cannes Film Festival 2013, and will be released in UK cinemas on 2nd May. Watch an exclusive clip from the film below.
