When we look at a colour wheel; the opposite colours are complimentary – and what they do is bring out the best in each other, and the vibrancy. This theory really works when wearing eye makeup; whether it is just a hint of colour, an undertone or a full-on look – this wheel may just help you decide which eyeshadow you’re going to buy next.
This is not to mean that other colours don’t look just as great on you, but using this rule, we’ve put together a suggestion of some great complimentary eyeshadows to try out; to make your eyes seriously pop.

BLUE / GREY
Opposite Colour: Red/Orange.
Now, this doesn’t mean you have to wear a crazy bright orange on your lids – this just means that anything with an amber or orange undertone is so great – for example, a camel brown with a warm tone. Give it a go, you’ll love this colour on.

GREEN
Opposite colour: Red/Purples.
Try plums, maroons or burgundy shades of eyeshadows to get that green looking GREEN.

HAZEL
Hazel eyes are quite unique – and are usually a combination of different tones, from green to brown to gold. Which colour you choose to put on will enhance different shades. For example; if you want to make them look more green; wear warm red tones and purples. If you want to make them more golden/brown; wear shades of bluey purples.
Our favourite is a dark taupe smokey eye, which brings out the green tones here, with the use of a warm blending colour.

BROWN
You brown eyed girls have it easy as most colours go – but a good tip to pop out your eyes is to add an illuminating shade, whether it is silver or gold – to your lids or in the inner corners. It adds that pop of light to accentuate the whites in your eyes too.
But, if you want to wear a bit of colour, try out turquoise/blues to make your eyes warmer.
