From the outside it looks like a fairy princess castle distinguishing it from the pet boutiques and yogurt stops of latter day Santa Monica Blvd. The Face Place has been doing the innovative facials for forty years. I have been to the branch in London, but this is the original. Look up celebrity skin in the dictionary and you will see its pictures. Testimonials on the site are not just “Tony is the best, and this is so rejuvenating” they are all left by A list actors. Renee Russo, Mary Louise Parker, Emmy Rossum, Sophia Coppola, Laura Dern, to mention a few.
Once inside, everything is fresh, clean and shiny, exactly how your face will feel after your treatment. My treatment was with the celebrated Tony and if you are into the idea that these hands that are touching my face are the hands that have touched many famous faces then there is your first thrill. The facial itself is simple but beautiful, same as the London one. Your face is soaked in lotus and aloe drenched cloths and then the face teepee gives you a mini sweat lodge. Then, Tony performs the deepest, yet gentlest extractions. He was particularly pleased with the transformation of my nose, and indeed, it looked like a porcelain dolls nose.

After this you get more cloths and the tingling of a galvanic current that optimizes the penetration of ingredients vitamin C which stimulates collagen production and zinc which is an anti=inflammatory, into the facial tissue.

Of course, I was desperate to know which movie, which actress, but of course, this is the kind of facial conversation had at Face Place.

I tried the beautiful cleansing milk which is gentle but super refreshing and also the face shampoo. This is a blemish fighting, antiseptic gel cleanser, a little goes a long way and works beautifully with the face refiner, which is a gentle exfoliant. My skin sometimes over reacts to exfoliants so I can promise that this one is super gentle with its sunflower oil and beeswax and many other clever things. The little granules that do the refining and polishing are tiny but they do cause instant illumination. Best of all is the new collagen moisturizer. It is kind of a moisturizer and serum all in one and is super whipped, a gel like moisturizer that is absorbed instantly into the skin and provides an instant glow to the skin. It also gives you the skin that reminds you that something great happened to your face.
