Chanel’s Resort collections are always showcased with aplomb. It’s always a decadent affair, and this year’s event was no exception. For a start it was held in Dubai. Karl Lagerfeld do things by halves? Never! Even he was a little overwhelmed by the venue, which he hadn’t visited for around 50 years. As you can imagine, it would have been like a different world. Features included bright prints, flowing silhouettes and the houndstooth jackets, the colouring of which brought them as close to an Aztec print as you can imagine.
Harem pants sashayed along the catwalk, and sandy tones sat alongside heavily jewelled necklaces and kholed eyes to imagine the form of a desert goddess. And a desert goddess wouldn’t be wearing anything but Chanel right?
