As much as we’d hate to admit it, the summer is dwindling a little bit. Just a little bit! I’m not quite ready to let it go just yet, and I am adamantly keeping my coats on the same hooks I left them on when summer hit. That being said, a little extra warmth wouldn’t go amiss. Just in the early early mornings and the evenings you understand, the times when there’s a little minty nip in the air. So with that in mind, we’ve come up with our favourite five late summer scarves. They bridge the gap perfectly between SS14 and AW14, and keep you looking darned beautiful in the process.

This one might just be my favourite. The Temperley London Isodora Shawl (£595.00) comes in the gorgeous country kitchen blue pictured above, as well as black and cream colourways, I’d have to opt for black personally. Shawls are back in a big way, but think less Granny, more Gisele on a blustery day. The silk and wool blend of Temperley London’s creation matched with its weight and size gives you something seriously luxurious to snuggle into whenever you desire.

& Other Stories can always be relied upon to throw something a little bit different into the mix and the & Other Stories Kaleidoscope Scarf (£29.00) is no exception. The dynamic print sets it apart as a statement piece, and it can be paired with anything from a classic black leather jacket to an oversized cashmere jumper.

We can’t resist a geometric print, especially when it’s softened by feminine colours. The Pieces Selda Scarf (£18.00) is on the lightweight size but packs a serious punch in the fashion stakes, with a loveable price to boot.

Plaid is always going to feature in the new wave of scarves that flow onto the shelves each season, it’s always going to be a classic look, Diane Von Furstenberg has taken the look to the next level with the Diane Von Furstenberg Boomerang Scarf (£125.00). Two shades of blue plaid meet two shades of grey plaid in the design as they frame a floral centre. It gives the androgyny of chequered prints a refreshing feminine twist.

This is an infinitely wearable little wonder that will hold its fashion kudos for years upon years. The Isabel Marant Jasmin Scarf (£455.00) is one to seek out, although be warned, it may not make it to vintage status because you’ll wear it to death.
