When it comes to gifting perfume this Christmas, it’s so hard to get it right. With a wall of new releases facing you in every department store, how are you supposed to decide? So we decided to revert back to the classics, our ultimate favourites, and let you know what we’ll be asking for this December…

Editor’s pick, Balenciaga Paris Rosabotanica Eau de Parfum 50ml (£56.00) – This is one of my ultimate daytime fragrances, it’s how I want to smell when I walk into an important meeting, it’s fresh, uplifting and really feminine.

Deputy Editor’s pick, Elie Saab Le Parfum Eau de Toilette 50ml (£50.00) – I stumbled across this fragrance in a magazine beauty cupboard, when I was searching desperately for something to spritz on pre-date, and I never looked back. It’s the scent people know me by. I’ve stopped being able to smell it once it’s settled on my skin, but it always reels in the compliments. The Eau de Parfum is too powdery for my taste, Eau de Toilette every time. It’s fresh, floral and vibrant.

Editor’s pick, Jo Malone London Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne 100ml (£82.00) – There’s something really cosy and comforting about the smell that feels clean, fresh and beachy. Whenever I wear it, I want everything to smell like it, I want the candle, I want the body lotion, it’s a scent you want to surround yourself by. A Jo Malone London Wood Sage & Sea Salt cocoon would be ideal. It’s my weekend scent.

Deputy Editor’s pick, Clarins Eau Dynamisante 200ml (£39.00) – This one’s an absolute classic. Not just a perfume, it’s a body treatment too. Essential oils of lemon, patchouli, ginseng and white tea revive and refresh, whilst nourishing skin. My mother has warn this during the day ever since I can remember, so the scent is incredibly nostalgic and comforting. It’s a unisex product, you’re supposed to splash on after a shower to feel the full effects.

Editor’s pick, Stella Eau de Parfum 50ml (£58.00) – I’ve been wearing Stella since it came out, to me it’s the perfect sexy evening fragrance that just finishes off a great outfit and hair and makeup, it’s the finishing touch for evenings out. I even love the smell on my clothes the next day, it lingers without being too sickly and heavy.
