In his second feature film, Liberal Arts, writer, actor and director Josh Radnor better known for his portrayal of Ted Mosby in the Emmy Award winning sitcom How I Met Your Mother, plays Jess Fisher. Newly single, 35, and uninspired by his job, Jesse worries that his best days are behind him. But as much as he attempts to bury his head in a book, life keeps pulling him back. When his favorite college professor, played by Richard Jenkins, invites him to campus to speak at his retirement dinner, Jesse jumps at the chance. He is prepared for the nostalgia of the dining halls and dorm rooms, the parties and poetry seminars; what he doesn’t see coming is Zibby, played by Elizabeth Olsen—a beautiful, precocious, classical-music-loving sophomore. Zibby awakens scary, exciting, long-dormant feelings of possibility and connection that Jesse thought he had buried forever.
Premiering to standing ovations at the Sundance World Premiere in January and with an all sat cast including Elizabeth Olsen, Zac Efron, Richard Jenkins, Allison Janney, John Magaro and Elizabeth Reaser. This is an Autumn must-watch.
Liberal Arts is out in cinemas nationwide from 5 October.
