There’s a new brand on the health food scene, and we approve. Introducing Dr Gaye Super-Shake. And who is this mysterious Dr Gaye? She’s actually called Dr Morgaine Gaye and is a Food Futuroligist. That means she looks at where the world of food is going in terms of social, cultural and economic trends, new discoveries and research, even from a political perspective.
On the basis of her wide foodie knowledge, she’s created a range of superfood-filled mixes that provide a well thought out and balanced addition to our diets, without us having to do any of the thinking.
Take Dr Gaye’s Super-Spoonful (£22.50). Here’s the blend…
Mulberries – High in antioxdants, iron, calsium, vitamin C, and protein.
Incan berries – High in vitamins B12, C, and A.
Sprouted buckwheat – High in magnesium.
Apricot kernels – High in protein and vitamins B17 and B15.
Cacao nibs – High in magnesium and sulphur.
Coconut chips – High in fibre, protein, iron, and vitamins C and B1.
Pumpkin seeds – High in zinc, magnesium, copper, and iron.
Sunflower seeds – High in vitamin E and selenium.
It’s crunchy, it’s full of flavour, and can be used just about any way you like. I’ve taken to sprinkling it over porridge, on top of or in shakes, or even just picking at a handful for a quick craving-calming snack.
Try mixing through greek yoghurt along with the Dr Gaye Super-Porridge (£14.50) mix for a breakfast that’ll give you the kick-start you need in the morning.
