We were lucky enough to attend the launch of Vita Coco Coconut Oil this week, where we met the fabulous Hemsley + Hemsley sisters. Whilst we were there we sampled their Pep-Up Tea and just had to share the recipe.
It’s cleansing, it’s fresh and it’s got one heck of a kick. This natural beverage will give you a caffeine-free boost, and catalyse your metabolism to boost. Here’s how to make it…
Ingredients for 2 cups…
1 tbsp fresh root ginger, finely grated (unpeeled if organic) 1⁄2 tsp ground turmeric
1/2 tsp ground turmeric
A tiny pinch of cayenne pepper (more if you like)
Juice of 1⁄2 lemon
A squeeze of raw honey (optional)
Method…
Boil the kettle and put the grated ginger, turmeric and cayenne pepper in a teapot.
Fill with 600ml of hot water (not boiling), stir and leave to brew for 10 minutes.
Strain if you like. Pour into mugs and leave the tea to cool to room temperature before adding the lemon juice and raw honey, if using.
