FRANCES PRESCOTT’S TRI BALM

September 26, 2017

By Chrissy Iley

There really is something quite revolutionary about Frances Prescott’s Tri Balm. It’s a stick of facial balm that feels luxurious and it cleanses, exfoliates and moisturises all in one step.

There are many things about it that’s pioneering. I like its multi-tasking, time saving appeal. I like that when the beauty world is always telling us more is more, and there are so many products to deal with so many insecurities we never even knew we had, this is one product that does everything. But it doesn’t do everything in that old fashioned BB Cream, conditioner shampooing 2 in 1 way, there is a sense of luxury about it. It’s paraben, silicone and sulphate free. It’s harvested from plants, flowers, vegetables and seeds. It has a tiny carbon footprint where local resources have been maximised and it’s super useful. How clever that it’s been launched in time for summer flights. You can take it as cabin baggage as it’s not a liquid so no more will people at London City Airport steal my moisturiser and cleanser, no more will I be forced into wipes for my skin.

On a recent wedding trip via plane to Scotland I learnt that the Tri-Balm was more like a Five-Balm. I used it as an overnight cream and that went so well just before the wedding I used it as a beauty balm. It really does freshen and exfoliate beautifully. It makes the skin juicy and dewy. If you use it as a cleanser in the morning it emulsifies with water or you can rinse away or I prefer to just tissue it off and its little pumpkin seeds gently, and I mean gently, exfoliate and brighten the skin. As a moisturiser its hyaluronic acid locks in moisture while its antioxidants, Vitamin E and Blackcurrant neutralise free radicals and prepare the skin.

How amazing that Prescott, renowned make-up artist and facialist, has come out with one product that does everything. She continues to work for brands like Chanel, Elemis and Paul Smith and work on British actors such as Dame Judi Dench, Jude Law and Tilda Swinton. Herself, the ultimate multi tasker, and that’s the philosophy behind her multitasking skin care. It makes life easier and it makes a statement, keeping life simple yet luxurious. It comes close to having it all.
