I have to admit. I am such a false lash fan. I know they can be tricky to apply if you’re not an avid user of them, but once you get the knack of it, it just starts to feel easy and just another part of your makeup regime..
I feel like false lashes have gotten very popular recently – but it’s a more refined, and mature lash look these days. It’s not necessarily all about volume, volume, volume. It appears to have become more softer, wispy, long fluttery lashes that are super pretty and can really make your eyes pop out. I make good use out of mine too – I wear them around 8-10 times, and the trick – to put them on last. After all your eye makeup is absolutely completed! This way they don’t gather any build up. I’m not a fan of piling on mascara onto false lashes otherwise they start to loose that lovely delicate, real hair look – and just get clumpy and have to be thrown away a lot sooner too.

I just want to start off by telling you about a must-have product, Duo Glue. Duo Lash Adhesive is the world’s best-selling lash adhesive…& for a reason! It is a Latex formulation which is safe to use with all false lashes and even other body decoration/accessories. This glue is available in clear and dark tones and will not irritate the skin, and offers complete staying power and can easily be removed without damaging your natural lashes.
Not all false lashes come with a glue in the packet – so it’s a must, plus its much better than any other glue I have used (and I have used a lot!) and gone are the days where I have to worry about my false lashes falling off at the corners at the end of the day! This glue keeps on your lashes literally until you take them off at night. Also my natural lashes are completely healthy, and I’ve been wearing false lashes for years and years.
Duo Glue is sold online (around £10.99) in beauty stores such as FalseEyelashes, BeautyBay, but you can grab them from MAC stores too.

So, here are our Friday Five lashes that are absolutely winning at the moment –
1. Kiss True Volume Lashes in ‘Chic’, £7.99

These are for those who like more subtle lashes, getting a fuller look but at the same time still look super natural. Kiss Lashes use 100% Natural hair and are tapered at the ends to give an even more real-lash look.
2. Ardell Wispies, £3.99

Flirtatious. This is what you will be in these lashes. Like the accurate choice of name, they’re wispy, and create a very girly look. Great against a soft, blown-out smokey eye. These Ardell lashes feature an invisible, lightweight band that connects the hair strands together to form a strip. They are knotted and feathered by hand for perfect uniformity.
3. Eylure Individual Lashes, £5.29

Eylure are available in most Boots and Superdrug stores so easy to get your hands on them – and they have a big selection..but I wanted to talk about the individuals because not all false lashes have to be on a strip. The difference is you can build up or be as subtle as you like with these. You can play it by ear and add more until you are happy with the desired look. They are great for adding to a natural eye makeup look – or no makeup on the eyes and will still blend in with your lashes.
A strip is hard to get completely on the lash line if you have no makeup on – so these would be a great option if you arent a big eye makeup wearer but still want your lashes to become a key feature.

4. MAC #7 Lashes, £10.50

MAC Cosmetics #7 lashes are a more everyday ‘glam’ look. They have a spiked effect which can look quite striking, but without piling on the volume. MAC lashes are human hair and individually handmade, and delicate looking. I like these for wedding makeup, very girly.
5. Red Cherry #43 Lashes, £2.99

So these are the lashes said to be worn by Kim K.. But these are good to go for if you like more volume, length and big lashes! They are fuller, and long but still have a fluttery texture which I like. Red Cherry Lashes are 100% Human Hair, also featuring a clear band to help blend in your strip with your real lashes when applied.
Texture of false lashes is key for me, and the lashes featured in this article are all about texture. I love that they’re not straight, and false-hair looking, they’re real.
You can order these Red Cherry, Ardell, Eylure, and Kiss Lashes from a range of selected stores including Boots, FalseEyelashes.co.uk .
