Actress. Philanthropist. Restaurant Owner. Mother. Wife of Justin Timberlake. Killer Body. Jessica Biel somehow seems to be managing it all effortlessly. The 34 year old mother of one to Silas Randall Timberlake (how adorable, right?) is always up to something whether it’s making a film or opening her new innovative restaurant Au Fudge in West Hollywood.
With all this going on, someone could easily lose sight of their body – but not JBiels. Still rocking a hot bod post baby and post drool-worthy bakery, we just needed to see how she managed to do it all. We found all the fitness tips and tricks from Biel’s trainer Jason Walsh, as well some from Jessica herself.

The Workout
Sports: Jessica Biel isn’t your typical Hollywood starlet. She likes to get down and dirty with the boys when it comes to sports, and her body definitely reaps the rewards. Beach volleyball is one of Jessica’s favorites and we can see why. Not only does this sport require a beach (already a win for us), but keeping traction in the sand is a hard core workout while still having fun in the sun. Another fave for Biel is soccer, which is a full body workout of cardio, endurance, and hand-eye coordination. She even used to be part of a girl’s soccer team in high school.
Cardio: One of the simplest ways to fit in some cardio, running is not Jessica Biel’s favorite type of heart strengthening exercise, but quick jogs to build up endurance are inevitable for this busy mom. Biel’s favorite form of cardio, however, is walking with her dog Tina, saying “It keeps me very…clearheaded, and it helps me refresh.”
Circuits: The main aspect of Jessica Biel’s workout routine is circuits. If you aren’t aware what circuits, or circuit training is, it’s a workout where you target each muscle group at a time with high intensity bursts of exercises that last only a minute each, but when repeated with each muscle group multiple times, it becomes the ultimate mashup of strength building and muscular endurance with amazing results. Although she usually doesn’t like using too many fitness “accessories”, the trusty medicine ball is Biel’s go to when it comes to additional weights for circuit training.
All About the Booty: Lunges, lunges, lunges is the motto to get that Biel booty. A big fan of keeping a toned bottom, some of Jessica’s favorite workouts for toning her backside include jump lunges, medicine ball lunges, and jump squats. Pylometrics, also known as jump training, is a huge part on Jason Walsh’s training program for Jessica. These jumps, most frequently the jump squats, exert a high amount of force in short intervals of time with increasing power, all leading to great results.
The Food
With both her husband and herself owning restaurants, it’s definitely clear that Mr. and Mrs. Timberlake are foodies. Jessica’s trainer acknowledges that when creating a diet plan to stay fit and film ready. Biel usually follows a basic clean eating regime 6 out of 7 days, and then treats herself to a cheat day, where she can get cakes from her delicious bakery, or splurge with a burger and fries. This diet is great because the cheat day keeps your metabolism working and keeps your mental state in tact (something definitely needed if we’re reaching for a Biel bod).
Organic foods such as nuts, loads of vegetables, quinoa, and the occasional animal protein are clean eating staples for Biel. She also makes sure to spread out when she eats and focuses on having 5-6 small meals per day instead of 3 larger ones to keep energy constantly going.Drink wise, you will be hard pressed to find Jessica with a boozy drink in hand because to her they’re just empty calories. Her trainer also prescribes to her “amino acid drinks, so that you’re not burning up a lot of your muscle, or protein.” Biel is also a huge fan of fermented veg and probiotic drinks which keep her digestion flowing and skin glowing.
The Lifestyle
Stay Adventurous: Jessica Biel is no stranger to adventure. Inspired by her parents who she describes as “hippies” who used to raft down the grand canyon, this actress tries her hardest to take her fitness routines outdoors, and climbing has always been a favorite for the actress. Having climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in 2010 to bring attention to the clean water crisis, Biel stays in the “mountains” nowadays
Get Outside: Jessica Biel is just like us…and by that we mean she gets bored at the gym. To solve this common issue, instead of just not going to the gym at all, she bring her fitness outdoors. From beach volleyball to swimming to hiking with the dogs, the outdoors is the ultimate gym for Biel. “When you get out into the wilderness and strip away all of the stuff in your everyday life, you really gain a great respect for your own life, simply as it is.” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves, Jessica.
Yoga: Celebrities and yoga seem to go hand in hand, and Jessica Biel is no exception. “Yoga is a constant for me because it keeps my muscles long and flexible”. According to her trainer, Jessica tries to do yoga 2-3 days a week to keep her muscles from getting tight from the other rigorous workouts of the day, and unwind her mind while simultaneously unwinding her muscles.
Keep Motivated: Biel is a very goal oriented person in every aspect of her life, and that doesn’t stop with fitness. A way to Biel stays motivated to consistently work out and stay healthy is by setting certain goals, ranging from high goals like when she climbed Kilimanjaro or smaller goals like when she ran a 5k for Revlon annual run/walk for cancer research. No matter where the finish line is, having a finish line in the first place is what pushes Biel forward, and now you can use this mindset too.
