The Hunger Games hit Leicester Square last night for the premiere of the second instalment in the Suzanne Collins trilogy, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. As Jennifer Lawrence floated gracefully in along the red carpet in a Dior dress, sporting her newly fashioned blonde crop, she looked a far cry from her Hunger Games character Katniss, who spends most of the movie flitting around, auburn curled hair plaited and flowing, and swathed in figure hugging gym wear.
Whilst Lawrence herself has a hit and miss relationship with fashion, her character’s costumes have constantly struck the right note in terms of sportswear. So much so that Lucas Hugh, the label that created the costumes, have reproduced the stylish designs as a line of gym wear available to purchase at Avenue 32.
Anjhe Mules who founded the sports label in 2010 has created designs for the likes of Marc Jacobs, Speedo and Alexander McQueen. Her credentials in fluid, form fitting style made her the perfect choice to design the outfits that grace the Hunger Games characters. Apparently Jennifer Lawrence felt so comfortable in the Lucas Hugh sports gear that she still wears the items for her own personal training sessions, if that’s not an endorsement we don’t know what is!
