Come rain or shine, you can bet your bottom dollar that when it comes to preparing for a nice little night out, we’re all going to be after a little more hair volume this season. And shine, and movement…you get the idea. Fortunately there seem to be a whole host of new launches on the beauty shelves to help us on our way, and here are some of our tried and tested favourites.
Aveda Thickening Tonic Styling Spray (£20.00). This little wonder has just launched, is 97% naturally derived, and is proven to add serious bulk to hair after just one use. Amongst the various botanicals in that little spray bottle is wheat protein, to protect from damage, and Amla, an Ayurvedic herb that has been used for centuries in India for healthy, thick looking hair. The secret’s out!
Trevor Sorbie Self Grip Velcro Rollers (£15.99). To kick things off with a good dose of volume, pop these rollers in straight after drying hair. You can even curl hair with a large-barelled tong before you fix them. The idea is to let the hair cool and set around the rollers, so give hair a gentle blast of cold air from your hair dryer before leaving them in as long as possible before you head out.
Batiste Dry Shampoo XXL Volume (£3.99). Everyone knows the uber convenient option is dry shampoo. A spray, a brush through, a little backcombing later and you’re good to go. Well Batiste have stepped it up a gear with their XXL Volume edition. This thing gives you volume and then some, and best of all it lasts.
Kent Backcombing Brush (£10.50). This baby is a must. It might not look like a life-changer, but once you’ve created your first volume-packed look with it you won’t look back. Take it from us. Head to BeautyMART to pick one up, you won’t regret it.
L’Oreal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray Diamond Hold (£7.51). A big hairstyle deserves big shine and big hold. The eternal favourite L’Oreal Paris Elnett ticks all the boxes with their Diamond Hold edition. Bags of shine and great hold that still allows for movement.
