For most of my adult life I have been on the holy grail for the perfect foundation. Dolce & Gabbana’s Perfect Luminous Liquid Foundation may well be it.
Years of science have gone into it, but I’m not even going to begin with the explanation of how it is so good, just that it is. It’s like wrapping your face in silk cashmere, the finest silk cashmere. And it’s like you’re wearing nothing at all.
It’s the creamiest, most lightweight formula ever. It blends with other shades, so if you wanted to do the contour thing, you could, flawlessly.
There are 15 shades. I wear 80 Creamy. Basically you can apply it as lightly as you want. Just a whisper of it gives you an uplifting dewiness. A heavier application also looks good. It brings coverage and radiance at the same time.
The formula includes illuminating particles that are light reflecting and fine translucent pigments. It nourishes, moisturises and conditions the skin, leaving it super hydrated, but also provides great, undetectable camouflage.
Scarlett Johansson is the face of the campaign. She reclines draped in silk and her skin with a golden luminosity. For this look she used a blend of foundations, creamy was the base one. The colour blends into all skin tones in the most perfect way. It is a delicious colour – pale without being vampiric.
Since I’ve used it people ask me have I just had a facial, what have I done? It’s incredible to believe it’s all from one bottle. The bottle is classic, chunky heavy glass with a gold top that clicks shut and makes the same noise as the Dolce & Gabbana lipsticks.
