It all began back in 2003 with those individual ramekin pots of decadent, gooey-centred Hot Chocolate Soufflés. Almost ten years ago the genius and indulgent dessert brand, Gü was born and we have been grateful (not to mention possibly a bit squidgier around the edges) ever since.

To celebrate 10 years of gorgeously indulgent, gooey-centred puddings, Gü launched the (fabulously named) Gü York Cheesecake this month. And whilst we’ll admit to being cheesecake snobs here in the BATD office (once you’ve tasted the real US deal everything else seems all too synthetic, sweet or unbalanced – never underestimate the cheese to base ratio – in comparison), Gü’s “indulgent twist on an all-American classic” turned us into dessert-fiends and had us spooning the drool-worthy concoction into our prettily painted mouths without a second thought.
And so, in a salute to the sweet-treat company we give you a run-down of our top choices from the Gü ten-year collection:

Mango and Passionfruit Mini Cheesecakes – crumbly biscuit on the bottom, layers of passion fruit and Alphonso mango curd on top offer a juicy, fruity twist on a cassic cheesecake.

Key Lime Pies – we love these biscuit based pots, packed with ginger palm sugar, Peruvian key lime and a dollop of mascarpone cheese.

Black Forest Gateaux – Indulgent, tarte and chocolatey, the Morello cherry compote has a subtle hint of brandy and kirsch and is topped with a rich mascarpone cheesecake and chocolate ganache

Chocolate Orange Melting Middles – serve these fresh from the oven, with a dollop of sour cream for the ultimate chocolate orange indulgence.
Whatever sweet-toothed mood we’re in, Gü is our go-to.
