In light of recent red-carpet event dressing where Michelle Williams, Amanda Seyfried, Viola Davis and Kristen Davis have all worn and championed custom-made H&M together with the launch of the Exclusive Glamour Conscious Collection on April 12th, rumours have it that the high-street chain are planning to launch their very first luxury clothing brand.
Whilst H&M have neither confirmed nor denied the claims, the appointment of designer Behnaz Aram – previously designer for women’s ready-to-wear at Swedish brand Whyred – last August, has further fuelled the rumours.
No stranger to a luxury collaboration, as the recent Lanvin, Versace and Marni for H&M collections have proved and already running higher-price point fashion label Cos, we’re intrigued to see what the much-loved cheap and chic label will come up with.
With high-end designers constantly creating more accessible off-shoot diffusion labels, is it about time that the high-street flipped the coin and offered the option of more investment pieces?
