With temperatures rising (at a glacial pace, but rising nevertheless), and the sun peaking out, we can finally proclaim, spring is here! Now, there’s just the slight problem of still wearing our full winter wardrobes. Not to worry though, we have you covered when it comes to spring style trends. Forget about the Easter egg pastels and bring on silks, metallics, and stripes with style inspiration from top designers, as well as clothing picks inspired by Pantone’s Color(s) of the Year.
Silky Flow

Bedroom looks have officially been taken out into the daylight with blacks, whites, and creamy silks that are a luxurious and sexy addition to spring style. Styled in skirts, shirts, and most commonly dresses, this “almost sleepwear” look has adds a feeling of warmth, softness, and seduction that make you feel like you’re still wrapped up in a cozy duvet. Some of the top designers have pioneered this recent trend, from Givenchy, to Alexander Wang, to Calvin Klein, we love seeing the different ways these fashion houses have interpreted the trend and couldn’t wait to do it ourselves.

Silk slips are a perfectly seductive going out look that we’ve seen on celebrities and runways everywhere recently. We found these two wearable options, a crisp white and blush pink, from Mason by Michelle Mason. Personally, we think the best way to incorporate this trend into your own wardrobes is through the all encompassing camisole. Perfect standing alone, or paired with any number of jackets, silk camisoles aren’t just for sleeping anymore. Our favorites are a creamy silk camisole with lace detailing from ANINE BING, as well as 3.1 Phillip Lim‘s black silk tank straight from the runways. For a more refined, business look there’s this gorgeous raw silk blazer from THISISNON. Able to dress up or down, high waisted black silk trousers, our favorites are from Equipment, are not just ideal for spring, but for every season when you want to look effortlessly chic.
Pantone Colors of the Year

Personally, we always get excited to see the Color of the Year from Pantone, the color masters. It adds an extra layer of fun to watch the colors pop on on the runways and in stores, and now it’s time to prep our wardrobes to be as on-trend as possible. We were extra excited this year to find that there were not one but two colors for 2o16, Rose Quartz and Serenity. This warm dusty pink and cool blue are ideal for spring time, so we thought we’d gather a few options for how to add Pantone into your wardrobe. For even more ideas, check out our past Pantone article on these gorgeous pastels here.

Walking down the street past the American Apparel windows, it was clear for the luxe pinks and cool blues that they had centered in the displays that Pantone and pastels were on their minds. We loved their high-waisted crepe shorts and dress that will be sure to freshen up our wardrobes. Because the London weather isn’t quite allowing us to whip out bare legs quite yet, this gorgeous duster coat from 2nd Day is a great pop of spring on top of an outfit. Of course we couldn’t forget the dressier spring occasions, and for that we found this gorgeous two-piece set from Etrala London, as well as the more refined option of DKNY pants.
Futuristic Flare

If Karl Lagerfeld says something is ‘in’ for spring, you better believe we’re going to follow his advice. Chanel, Loewe, Courreges, and Isabel Marant‘s Spring/Summer shows all stunned with 22nd century style. We got a glimpse of the future, and my was it stylish. Although wearing all metallics may have you looking like you took a time machine to the year 2016, we came up with a few ways to mix in this trendy without looking robotic.

Want to make your own wardrobe look out of this world? Mix in some futuristic looks to your spring wardrobe! High-waisted and silky, these silver-foiled trousers we found from Vionnet are a high fashion way bring your style into the space age. Just a simple tuck in of a black or white top and your monochrome ensemble is ready for take off. Another amazing pant option comes from Isabel Marant, whose metallic ridden collection provided endless inspiration. Sequined pants are always a jaw dropper, and these silver sequined skinnies from Isabel Marant have us dreaming of our next night out. Another perfect option to light up the dance floor without looking like a new age disco ball is this tinsel crop top from Jaded London. Looking to go all out space cadet? Our favorite head-to-toe look is this sassy chrome maxi dress from Nasty Gal, complete with leg slit for an Angie moment, yes please.
Stripe It Up

Dolce and Gabbana, Jonathan Saunders, Max Mara, and of course Missoni have predicted it -graphics stripes are all the rage this spring and summer. Nothing feels quite like being by the water with the sun beaming down and a crisp striped top to have you feeling like a seafarer, and this season we have a modern twist. Stripes, horizontal, vertical, or both are all welcome for this spring trend, but what we really loved about this year’s stripes were the colors. Vibrant oranges, bold reds, soft pinks, and warm maroons contrasted against sharp whites are THE way to do this spring trend.

Bright stripes are the ultimate way to transition a wardrobe into spring. These splashes of color refresh our dark and dreary color palettes and patterns of winter and remind us that sunny and warm days are ahead. For the chillier days, this thick wrap coat from Isabel Marant is the ideal way to move from winter to spring without going straight into fluorescents. Another warmer option is this AMAZING cape jacket from Lavish Alice, we are honestly so obsessed and are tracking to see when our sizes come back in stock. As for the warmer days, dresses are always a spring essential. We gathered a few faves in various styles from Alice and Olivia, Lacoste, and ASOS to keep you looking spring time fresh.
Be it an intergalactic pair of pants, a silky slip dress, or bold stripes from head-to-toe, we cannot wait to see how everyone takes on these spring trends, good luck and have fun with it!
