The HTS One S is a revolutionary device which prides itself in having one of the fastest capture rates of all the smartphones on the market today. I was given the opportunity to test out the HTC camera on a low-light photography tour with the internationally renowned photographer, Poppy de Villeneuve as part of a project by HTC called ‘Dusk til Dawn’.
My particular tour was one of seven parts, in which participants were given a HTC One S headset and a theme. Being that my theme was East London at dusk, we were given a tour of all things East London. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the HTC camera exceeded all of my expectations.

The tour consisted of several stops, where we were given the opportunity to use the various features on the camera, including continuous shooting, low light, zoom and panoramic. Additionally, the headset was equipped with its own photoshop program, as well as editing tools comparable to Instagram. I was impressed by the vast amount of editing options, as well as how obviously clear my pictures were coming out.
We ventured all over Shoreditch, where we were granted access to the Old Street recycled tube carriages and Timothy Everest Tailors (who keeps labeled patterns for David Cameron and David Beckham)! Both are totally worth checking out.
It was incredible how well the HTC performed, even in the most extreme of circumstances. While filming a fire throwing routine, I was able to take pictures simultaneously which seemed to have no impact on the quality of the photograph whatsoever. Graffiti walls scattered over the course of the tour provided several photo ops, and thanks to the low light feature, no color or detail was lost in the dark. All in all, I was very pleased with the HTC One S – its a great product, especially if you rely heavily on your phone to take quick and easy pictures.
The Dusk until Dawn project focuses on promoting HTC as a camera device, and so for the next couple of weeks, participants will continue to take pictures based on their weekly themes which are designed to “bring life to personal experiences”. The photos are shared via @HTC_UK using the TT #DuskuntilDawn. At the end of the project, Poppy de Villeneuve will select her favorite posts and forward them to the public for a vote. The winner receives a trip to see the Northern Lights with a +1- sounds like reason enough to get involved to us!
