It’s a girls’ worst nightmare. And it happened to Jennifer Lawrence. Immaculately dressed in Dior Haute Couture, in front of a room full of thousands of her peers and before an audience of millions, as she approached the stage to receive her well-deserved Best Actress Oscar, she tripped up the stairs.
It was a moment, which for all intents and purposes should have been devastatingly embarrassing and yet somehow, by someone, somewhere (isn’t the internet a wonderful thing!) the image has been reworked into a spoof campaign shot that Avedon would have been proud of! Retouched in black and white, with the addition of a Christian Dior Paris logo, Jennifer looks vulnerable and yet hauntingly beautiful.
We bet Dior wishes it had thought of this.
