The legendary and iconic make up artist Kevyn Aucoin has long been an inspiration to the beauty team here at Beauty and the Dirt, which is why we knew we’d have to fight over these beauties when they dropped on our desk yesterday.
Designed with Kevyn’s extraordinary legacy in mind, the newly launched Rouge Homage Lipstick collection is all that you could want from a lipstick. The perfect balance of glide-over-lips velvety smoothness with a modern matte finish. Thanks to the blend of esters and emollients it also works to minimise fine lines on the lip. And although not portrayed so well by the image above, the colourways are lustrous and strongly pigmented. For the summer we’re loving the Matte Lip Color in Forever, a mid-toned pinky coral.
We were also nicely surprised by the Kevyn Aucoin Lip Gloss in Beaugonia (which we’ll admit to thinking was a glossy metallic nail varnish at first glance), which added a high-shine metallic glaze to bare lips and a plumped-up molten finish over lipstick. Our favourite part? The patented sponge applicator which mimics both the look and feel of your pinky finger enabling a light but precise application.
