Imagine your Instagram photo on a billboard, in the cinema or even on the internet. That would not only be the ultimate goal for any frequent Instagram-obsessed – but would basically make you feel like a celebrity, right?
This summer, stardom is now possible as Instagram has launched its first ever-advertising campaign in France and is looking to use its users’ content. The news of the campaign launch has sparked new conversation alongside the constant news about the UEFA Euro 2016 as both major events are expected to begin on Friday.
Coincidence? I think not.
As fellow social media platform Snapchat has recently surpassed Instagram’s popularity amongst teenage users; it comes as no shock as to why Instagram are taking drastic measures. The summer-long campaign is expected to end in August.
Community involvement will play a large role to the heated competition between the two social media platforms. Instagram is reaching out to its community and hoping to bring them together through its French Instagrammers photos and videos.
Even after Instagram’s recent revamp, it seems to be remaining calm, cool and collective. Even with the help of Instagram’s users, it has not been determined if this campaign will allow Instagram to retake the crown as the most popular social media platform…
