Style icon Iris Apfel is teaming up with Macy’s I.N.C. to create her own line of clothing.
The 40 piece Mod-themed clothing and jewellery collection will be inspired by all things 60’s and aptly named “Iris meets I.N.C.”.
At 94 years young, the style icon has created her pieces with an age-appropriate approach, with retro staples including printed flare pants, shift dresses, A-line skirts and statement jackets, even some black and white bangle bracelets and other Apfel-esque accessories. But these pieces are more of the modest style, “The only thing off-limits are the miniskirts and very sleeveless pieces, which I think expose too much for an older woman,” the style muse told WWD.
What’s more, to promote the collection I.N.C. is releasing an emoji keyboard featuring Apfel come September. We can’t imagine Iris is one to express her feelings in the form of emoji’s. So her reasoning behind them? “If it makes the kids happy” she says. Fair enough.
Iris Meets I.N.C. will be available at Macy’s in stores and online in September 2016.
