Jo Malone‘s latest beauty offering is a charming collaboration with printmaker Marthe Armitage.
Marthe has been producing her exquisite scenic prints since the 1950’s, is now in her 80’s and she is still designing and printing papers from her riverside home in Chiswick. And now we get to feast our eyes on the bespoke pattern created specially for Jo Malone.
Marthe’s incredible story dates back following the end of the Second World War at Chelsea School of Art, where she studied painting. ‘It was a lovely time to be at art school,’ she recalls, ‘The relief of not being at war any more was so enormous. Matisse and Picasso were still working; it was an exciting time in the art world.’ Her work reflects experiences and times that plenty of us can only imagine; and gives an intriguing insight into a new realm of artwork.
This limited edition collection from Jo Malone offers signature products and boxes wrapped in Marthe’s gorgeous designs. These include:
Soap Collection – Four soaps wrapped in Marthe Armitage’s Summer Afternoon design. Verdant Blackberry & Bay, golden English Pear & Freesia, zesty Lime Basil & Mandarin and Pomegranate Noir. (£30)
