Not content until he has taken over the world, or at least created a Lagerfeld version of each and every commodity known to mankind, Karl is once again dipping his (we imagine magnificently manicured) toes back in the world of beauty.

Cue endless puns as we suggest the inspiration clearly comes from the fact that Karl likes to burn the candle at both ends (does the man ever sleep?!), but whatever the reason, Karl Lagerfeld has recently stamped his (overused) name onto a collection of scented candles, thanks to a signed and wax-sealed licensing agreement with Welton London.
And as for the scents themselves, which launch in October, they’re set to “express the essence of the fashion house in olfactory terms,” which we’re hoping means something very French, very Karl and without any trace of eau de Diet Coke.
Meanwhile, Karl isn’t the only designer to be making scented waves as Mary Katrantzou joins forces with Rodial this September to create a gorgeously vibrant fruity Orange Blossom candle, housed in sheeny Babelle print glass. Sure to brighten up any room, lit or not.
