We all knew London Fashion Week was going to whirl past us, but it never ceases to surprise me how fast it goes by. Here are some of our favorite highlights that went down on and off the runway:
Central St. Martins 2017 class wows audience
MA students showed their best designs on Friday in the Central St. Martins 2017 show. Notable alumni from Central St. Martins include Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney, so it’s safe to say big things are in the fashion future for these students. Pictured is a design by British Fashion Council Scholarship winner Gabriella Sardena.
73-year-old walks Simone Rocha
Simone Rocha showed there’s beauty in any age, as models from all ages walked the runway in a mix of bonded velvet, chequered tweed, featuring embroidery, embellished collars and crochet leather flowers.
Gigi and Bella walk Versus Versace
Both the gorgeous Hadid sisters walked in the Versus Versace show on Saturday. They looked equally stunning as they took turns strutting down the runway in punky, smokey-eyed looks and matching “Versus” chokers. Grungy hairstyles and and black ensembles were brought to life on the two.
J.W. Anderson crowds the runway
On Saturday, the J.W. Anderson show made the most of a tiny space. Set in a sort of corridor, the models strut down a runway which only inches between them and the audience. We suppose this is a sure way to notice all the tiny details!
Roland Mouret returns to LFW
The designer celebrated twenty years in the industry by returning to London to show his latest AW17 collection on Sunday. Mouret has been showing in Paris for the past ten years, but refers to London as his “creative home.”
Christopher Kane starts new shoe trends
We were surprised the first time when Christopher Kane showed crystal-studded Crocs at his SS17 show, but he just went even further on Monday. Kane’s AW17 show featured fur-lined Crocs this time, and to one up that, models also wore stilettos with foam padding stuffed into them. Not sure if we’re going to try this trend anytime soon, but we’re definitley staying tuned.
Kendall Jenner turns heads at afterparty
Kendall Jenner looked gorgeous Monday night at the star-studded LOVE & Burberry party. Jenner wore a large cable-knit hooded sweater and was sporting a gold tooth. She can seriously make anything look good. Other models that obviously looked amazing at the party: Bella Hadid, Stella Maxwell, Winnie Harlow, and Lilly Donaldson.
