The Fashion Weeks are making their rounds, and it’s almost London’s turn! London Fashion Week will take place from 17-21 Feb. The chaos and fabric-clad week is put on each year by the British Fashion Council (BFC), and this year they’re changing it up a little bit. For example, BFC has decided that the main Fashion Week hub will be at The Store Studios in Central London.
Another addition new to London Fashion Week, is the London Fashion Week Festival, formerly known as “London Fashion Weekend.” For all of us who aren’t celebrities or have an “in” to the front (or even back) rows, there’s the London Fashion Week Festival. From 21-23 Feb, this is an opportunity for the public to see first hand over 150 designers and their teams exhibit curated pop-up shows. Tickets are available from £20-200 depending on how much you want to do.
All though we can’t say for sure, it’s pretty safe to say the usual gang of celebrities will be flocking to the front rows, from Alexa Chung, to Kim Kardashian-West, to Anna Wintour and everyone in between.
Burberry is among the more well-known brands in LFW, along with Preen and Erdem, and TopShop Unique, but definitley keep an eye out for the Topshop supported NEWGEN line up including Molly Goddard, Faustine Steinmetz and Sadie Williams. Past NEWGEN designers include Alexander Wang. Styles to look out for: uneven hems, geometric accessory shapes, funky prints, and more.
Can’t make the Fashion Week Festival? Lucky for you, the BFC will be live-streaming select shows through their website.
