Lock away your credit cards ladies, tomorrow marks the landing of the Christian Louboutin handbag collection at Knightsbridge’s Harvey Nichols. Harvey Nichols has been the UK mothership for the Louboutin brand since it launched its first shoe line in the UK back in 1995. It later housed its first shoe concession store there in 2007, and the new handbag space is marks another UK first.
According to WWD, Alexis Mourot, group chief operating officer and general manager of Christian Louboutin, the decision to launch the first handbag concession at Harvey Nichols’ flagship store in London follows on from the relationship they have built up with the location over the years and various launches. A good deal of thought went into the design of the space, and the Louboutin team worked with architect Will Russell to create a ‘luxurious and feminine’ feel for the 108 ft square space.
The range includes the Louboutin current bestseller, the Pigalle, a clutch that has proved popular amongst Louboutin devotees for its wearability and slimline size, as well as the Sweet Charity should bag that features gold chain straps. In accordance with Louboutin shoe tradition, the underside of the shelves that display the bags in Harvey Nichols will be painted a deep red.
Pop over to Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge after Friday 31st January to take a look at the collection for yourself.
