Pictorials are fun. It’s a good, quick way of seeing a step by step method of eye makeup. I like them, I think I’d rather see those than watch video tutorials sometimes – the pausing, playing, listening, rewinding – ugh! This is just a good way of displaying each step by step for reference as you’re recreating!
This one is a bit of a MAC haul – mostly using MAC Cosmetics products.. All info underneath photo!
So here is a quick pictorial of my eye, just to show how the method of how I apply my eye makeup most days.. I understand this could be more of an evening look for some, day time for others – but, I use similar methods a lot of the time just changing up the colours so this look can also certainly be done with really subtle browns, golds, greys etc.
I like to make my eyes the main feature of my face – and because my lids are heavier, higher blending of eyeshadows is needed and also an extra addition of false eyelashes can help open up your eyes.

1. I started with the MAC Prep + Prime 24 Hour Eye Base on my lids, as it is a miracle product for heavy lids, or greasy skin, it keeps all your eyeshadows in tact…all day!
2. I used a flat #239 brush to press on my golden base, which is MAC loose pigment in ‘Blonde’s Gold’ – available at MAC pro stores (Soho and Covent Garden)
3. I then worked in a cream eyeshadow product which is the MAC Pro Longwear Paintpot in Stormy Pink. It’s a grey-pink, anti-creasing cream eyeshadow (good as a base too…this isn’t moving anywhere) with #219 pencil brush.
4. I blended it out with a softer, tapered #217 brush (this brush is my ultimate crease blending brush) and used MAC Pro Longwear Shadow called Mauveless.
5. Using a slightly more defined tapered brush I blended in Embark eyeshadow right in my outer crease just to add a bit more definition, also bringing the blend outwards and upwards to create a more cat-eye shape.
6. Liner! I like using brushes to paint on my liquid liner, also thickening the line as it gets to the outer corner of the eye.
7. For my lashes I used Haute and Naughty Waterproof Lash – it is super volumous, using the thicker opening (it has a dual wiper system accommodating for both volume and definition) top and bottom!
8. Apply falsies. I like to use my fingers, never got into using tweezers. I think the fear of potentially poking my eye out with metal didn’t appeal to me. I like to grip and place them where I need them with my fingers. I used Ardell Wispies, as these lashes are longer towards the outer corner, applied with Duo Glue.
