In a rather insensitive show to the recent events in Colorado, Madonna brandished a number of fake guns during the Scottish leg of her MDNA tour last night, despite having been warned against it by police.
Less than 48 hours after the massacre at a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises, in which 12 people were killed, Madonna’s choice of props left a lot to be desired.
Despite defying local authorities’ who warned against the use of the dummy arms, the strong-minded singer’s routine continued to feature both a dummy pistol and AK47 rifle, shocking a number of her fans. The Material Girl even joked with the audience that the concert may be “cut off” due to Scotland’s gun laws which were brought in after the 1996 Dunblane massacre.
Despite there being no action taken against the singer, we’re somewhat perturbed at her choice to go ahead with the show. Surely a seasoned performer as Madge could have come up with a less offensive alternative?
