It looks as though we are celebrating more than one 90th birthday bash this year. To commemorate a legend, The Design Centre in Chelsea Harbour is holding a new exhibition in honour of Marilyn Monroe‘s 90th birthday and what better way than to look back on her glamorous life through the 1950’s.
Her epic journey is featured in the exhibit with an insight into her alluring lifestyle: with never-seen-before pieces, her original clothing, jewellery, watches and accessories. You’ll be able to see some of her best on-screen fashion moments in the flesh, with original costumes from ‘Niagara’ and ‘No Business Like Show Business’, and THAT sheer beaded dress from ‘Some Like It Hot’.
But alongside the glamour, you’ll get a glimpse into the more personal side of Monroe’s life with a selection of incredibly personal journals and hand written letters. Other highlights include extracts from her poetry and drawings.
On public display for the first time in the UK, it’ll be the opportunity like no other to get up close and personal with treasures and belongings from the beloved icon, Marilyn Monroe.
