Can you imagine how fetch it would be if Rachel McAdams, Lindsay Lohan and Amanda Seyfried reunited for a second go at Mean Girls? Well let your once-teen mind go haywire because it’s recently been confirmed by producer Jeff Richmond that the hit movie will take over Broadway.
Tina Fey, creator and cast member of the original 2004 comedy, is teaming up with her husband to turn the already coveted girl drama from screen to stage. It’s in the early stages of development, but Richmond has big ideas floating around already.
“‘Fetch’ will be a song, for sure, absolutely. And it will probably reprise itself at some point, just so you know. Gretchen Wieners will have a song. That’s all I can say. But it is fun to think about who is going to get a song — like, Damian will have a couple of songs,” he said.
I don’t know about you, but this gives me a good excuse to brush up on my favorite quotes from the film while waiting out the year or two until Mean Girls goes live!
