The ballet bun it seems, has not seen such a comeback since the days of crinoline and petticoats. Now we can’t get enough of them. Whether it’s neat and tight on top of the head, looped and plaited at the nape of the neck or scraped elegantly back into far more undone and casual affair, mid-height as was seen at the DVF AW14 show most recently, they are everywhere to be seen.

Luckily for us the Neville hair styling brand have seized upon this trend and come up with a brand new concept that will ensure we are never without the chance to have the perfectly coiffed ballet bun we’ve always wanted. The team were recently invited to join the exclusive Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture and were the first British hair brand to bag one of the coveted slots on the schedule at Paris Couture week since 1915.
Ralph & Russo chose the Neville team (made up of Stephen Low, Jose Quijano, Cristian Pignatta, Jack Merrick-Thirlway, Dante Dante, Despina Sianou and Salim Aktas) to create beautifully looped ballet buns for their couture collection. Hair was swept into a fixed swirl at the nape of the neck.
After the sensation they caused as they swept along the runway, the Neville team decided to launch the Ballerina Bun Barre, where you can visit them to have your own personalised bun crafted then and there. Talk about fast beauty!

The Neville flagship salon is based at 5 Pont St, London SW1X 9EJ (020 7235 3654). Contact them for further details.
