“I’m a fashion freak, not a tech geek,” says Michel Kors at the launch of his collection of smartwatches. Hoping to glam up the wearable technology of today, this is exactly why Kors chose New York Fashion Week to showcases his Michael Kors Access collection.
Now, if you’re into your fashion and have always wondered about wearable tech, this is probably for you – it is the best of both worlds. The smartwatch is both Silicon Valley tech – meaning voice-activated Google search, fitness tracking and social media alerts – you know all the James Bond type things you’d expect, while still managing to look stylish and a bit glam.
The goal according to Kors was to “come up with something that people could personalise and put their own stamp on,” but also “makes life easier” while adding, “we love what it does for our lives, but we don’t always love how it looks.”
The new watch also lets you go from day to night. They’ve designed it to be so simple that with a swipe of a finger you can choose between digital versions of the most popular watches from the analogue line of Michael Kors, and you can customise the colour of the dial to match your mood or even better, your outfit.
