Michelle Obama will be in London this evening accompanied by her mother and two daughters but not to socialize with the Queen. Her presence is to expand Let Girls Learn campaign, her international effort to encourage young women in the direction of university.
Let Girls Learn encourages adolescents throughout the world to break the cycle of poverty by turning to education. Women are oppressed and often are dissuaded from pursuing education and employment. Mrs. Obama is the largest advocate for the campaign and has traveled the globe for the last six years to promote this initiative.

With a history of warm welcomes from primary students, the First Lady is due to visit a girls’ school in Tower Hamlets. She’ll also be meeting with David and Samantha Cameron and will have tea with Prince Harry to discuss families of military veterans.
Daughters Malia and Sasha will more than likely be dodging school visits and instead will enjoy London’s museums and theatres so keep an eye out for them.
