MoBa London, located in the heart of central London, is a bright, modern cafe uniting classic French baguettes with delightful fresh Vietnamese fillings for a fusion take on the authentic Banh Mi.
A brief history lesson for those of you who are intrigued to know – banh mi is a Vietnamese term for all kinds of bread. Bread, or more specifically the baguette – was actually introduced by the French during its colonial period to mainland Southeast Asia during their rule in the 19th century. The Vietnamese adopted it as their own, turning it into a lighter and more lean loaf, using rice flour in the mix. Filled with fresh flavours from traditional Vietnamese cuisine, the banh mi was created.
Moba have announced a brand spanking new menu for us to get our teeth into – serving up mouth-watering breakfast options of Matcha Green Tea or Mango Croissants, & the classic french Butter croissant, or Pain au Chocolats (and more) to start off your day.
The starters available could make for a lovely light lunch, with Summer rolls, fresh Cucumber Courgette salad, and a special 4 Crostini banh mi selection so you have a taste of the different baguettes Moba have lovingly made.
They have an effective system of options for lunch, with a step by step for you to choose the 1. Base, 2. Filling, and finally, 3. The Sauce. This is a great way to have a delicious banh mi, just as you like it, and giving you endless options to try out for yourself!
So it’s necessary to mention the desserts now.. Matcha Brownies, White Chocolate & Lime Brioche, and a Chocolate Hazelnut Cake. Oh, just heavenly.
We popped over to MoBa and we feasted on the brilliant banh mi’s for lunch and we also indulged in their Matcha Brownie to finish – & needless to say, it was absolutely delicious. The brownie was gorgeously light, and with the added health benefits of matcha tea. Bonus.
MoBa’s exciting new menu.
Head over to Goodge Street and pay them a visit, if the food isn’t enough to entice you in – those charming smiles certainly will be!
