Over the holiday period I have grown to love Bobbi Brown. I always loved Bobbi Brown but now I feel we have a special relationship. A kind of dependency. Bobbi Brown products are my own personal soap opera. I am addicted and we go through ups and downs together. It all started when my friend arrived from LA and announced that ‘I have forgotten my makeup but you have plenty so I am just gonna borrow yours’. My heart sank as she reached for my Bobbi Brown Sequin Eye Shadow in Constellation (£25).

There is was, sitting perfectly in its black and chrome palace with a little mirror inside, tan and brown and glittering gold, my most beautiful eye shadow. I have been applying it wet for extra vamp effect. The friend took it, commandeered it, squealing with delight at its glitter. So I instantly became possessive of it and loved it even more.
Then came the broken bag. The strap snapped of a very nice hand bag that I overstuffed. That is when I decided to go minimal. That is when I discovered a beautiful Bobbi Brown Lip and Eye Palette in a colour called Bellini (£26.50). It is one of those palettes that has just enough shimmer to be special and just enough matte to be subtle. There is a trio of cream taupe brown, which is perfect for day wear. It can be smoky or as simple as you like. And there are the gorgeous sparkle colours for dinner date or party. The lip colour seems to plump out the lips with shimmer. And it has been with me everywhere.
I am also devoted to a Longwear Eye Pencil called Black Chocolate (£18.50). I love that it is not brown or black, I love its texture and I love its staying power. And also loving Bobbi Brown Sterling Lights Lip Colour (£20). Because it is just that, creamy and matte, it is kind on the lips. My favourite shade is Lady Ruba, an orangey red which is subtle at the same time as being stand-out. The high shimmer lip gloss is flawlessly wonderful and I don’t feel anything is lacking.
