Set in Texas in the late 1980s, Jim Mickle’s thriller Cold In July follows the trials and tribulations of Richard Dane (Michael C. Hall), who in fear of his and his family’s lives one night, shoots burglar Freddy Russell.
He’s vulnerable, well-meaning and an unwitting victim of Freddy, the ex-con father of the burglar he happened upon that night.
Sam Shephard and Don Johnson also star in this harrowing tale of revenge. It’s an action rich, psychologically challenging, and visually stunning. All in all, one of the must-sees of the summer.
