NEW MYKITCO MAKEUP BRUSHES

October 30, 2017

By Vesi Maslenishka

I’ve wanted to update my makeup brushes for a while now but haven’t seen a set I like. Most good brushes are sold separately and I like to get a full set. It feels more professional and you really are saving yourself money because one good makeup brush can set you back around £20 each.

Recently though, I came across MYKITCO, created by celebrity MUA James Molloy. I’ve been using his travel sized set. They come in an electric pink makeup bag with a slot for each brush. What I like about this is it’s not just a brush pouch, it gives you room for the rest of your makeup essentials – I can see why it’s a travel set.

The brushes are a multi-colour metallic, with a silver handle and black bristles. They’re also very soft and I like that they’re black so the hairs don’t stain from makeup; something I found with my lighter brushes, even after washing them.

You get six brushes for £25 – contour, powder, highlighter, shadow, lash/brow and liner. These are great as gift sets and this was Molloy’s vision when creating them, he was looking to “create a fun makeup brush set that was perfect for the party season. Something you could take in your bag and have all of your beauty bases covered.”

MYKITCO brushes are available online, at Selfridges and at Beauty Bay.
