Beyond the Lights tells the story of Noni Jean (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), the award-winning music artist of the moment who is destined to rocket her way to superstardom. The pressure she is under, though, causes Noni to break down. A light and hand of a hero arrives in the form of Kaz Nicol (Nate Parker), a young American police officer who she persuades to be assigned to her detail.
They become closer as they travel together, though their friends and family urge them to put both of their careers before their relationship.
Kaz tries to encourage Noni and give her the confidence to break away from everything she is being pushed to be, and to find her own free path in the music industry. Watch the trailer below.
