Making its premiere tonight at the BFI London Film Festival; Carol.

Carol is a stunning new period drama based on Patricia Highsmith’s seminal novel, The Price of Salt.
The beautiful 1950’s set drama stars Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara and is a tale of their blossoming relationship with complicated consequences.
Twenty-something Therese Belivet (Mara) is a shop clerk in Manhattan dreaming of a more exciting and fulfilling life. She meets Carol (Blanchett), an alluring woman who is trapped in a loveless and hopeless marriage. There is an immediate attraction across the department store floor that Therese works in and the innocence of that first encounter slowly turns into a deeper connection.

Carol breaks off from her marriage, with accusations of infidelity bring thrown at her by her husband (Kyle Chandler) and threatens her competence as a mother as the truth comes to light. As Carol leaves the comfort of her own home she starts an internal journey of self-discovery and has to make some tough life decisions concerning her private life that will affect her daughter.

Carol will be released in cinemas on 27th November.
Carol has been announced as the 59th BFI London Film Festival’s American Express Gala. The film is it’s UK Premiere today, Wednesday 14th October at the Odeon Leicester Square, attended by Academy-Award nominated director Todd Haynes and his luminous stars Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara.
