This year we’ve already seen one Bible story get the big screen treatment with Darren Aronofsky’s Noah, and before the year is out we’ll see one more hit cinemas. Director Ridley Scott is bringing the epic tale of Moses’ quest to free Israelite slaves from Egypt in Exodus: Gods and Kings. The film stars Christian Bale as Moses, with Joel Edgerton (The Great Gatsby) as his adoptive brother Rhamses.
The trailer depicts Moses and Rhamses’ rivalry and includes some epic special effects, which pretty much guarantees the film will give us an explosive, big-budget take on the old story that hasn’t been told on screen since 1956’s The Ten Commandments. Exodus: Gods and Kings also stars Aaron Paul, Ben Kingsley, John Turturro and Sigourney Weaver.
Exodus: Gods and Kings hits UK cinemas on December 26
