It’s Brad Pitt as you’ve never seen him before. Well that’s a bit of a lie. He looks rather like he did in Inglorious Bastards. And his character seems just as war-weathered and stern. But there’s less black comedy, more action in this autumn’s war film Fury.
Set in April, 1945, it follows the Allies as they make their final push in the war. Brad Pitt plays a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy, who is in command of a Sherman tank and her five-man crew. They are joined together on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and outgunned, and with a rookie soldier pushed quaking into their platoon, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.
Fury also stars Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Scott Eastwood, Jon Bernthal, Xavier Samuel and is both directed and written by David Ayer.
Fury will hit UK cinemas in October 2014.
