Based on the best-selling novel by John Niven and starring Nicholas Hoult, Kill Your Friends is an upcoming British dark comedy crime-thriller film about how to get ahead in the record industry.
Hoult has been labelled one of our fastest rising actors, with his mainlining role in Mad Max: Fury Road, and we get to see him offering his showcase talent in this black comedy. He stars as Steven Stelfox in the upcoming adaptation of John Niven’s ’90’s set novel; courtesy of StudioCanal.
Set in the murky and often chemically enhanced world of the 90’s London music industry, and at this time on a winning streak with it’s Britpop bands ruling the airwaves. Kill Your Friends follows 27 year-old hit chasing A&R man, Stelfox (Hoult), and his struggles to immerse his way into the music business. Where careers are fast made and just as quickly broken by chance and the fickle tastes of the general public; Stelfox becomes fuelled by greed and ambition.
Things definitely take a turn for the bloody when the hotshot turns to murder to get ahead of his peers…
