The film tells the tale of Megan, a woman panicked by her boyfriend’s marriage proposal and worn out by the adult world. Megan’s escape plan? Taking a week off to hang out with her teenage friend Annika (Chloe Grace Moretz) and her father (Sam Rockwell).
While a week-long slumber party with a teenager doesn’t seem like the natural course of action for a world-weary adult (ever heard of a spa, Megan?), along the way Megan helps Annika navigate the choppy seas of adolescence, and does some much-needed growing up of her own.
