After finding out that her son has dropped out of school, an editor from New York, played by Helen Hunt follows her son, Brenton Thwaites to California. He decides to leave school to go surfing and find himself, however – his mother ends up being the one to experience some self-discovery.
As she attempts to find and connect to her son, Hunt befriends her limo driver (David Zayas) and a relationship with her new surf instructor, played by Luke Wilson sparks up. Written and directed by Helen Hunt herself, Ride is a comedy with a bit of a twist.
