Based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks, The Longest Ride centers on thelove affair between Luke (Scott Eastwood), a former champion bull rider looking to make a comeback, and Sophia (Britt Robertson), a college student who is about to embark upon her dream job in New York.
As conflicting paths and ideals test their relationship, Sophia and Luke happen upon an old man named Ira in a car crash, whose memories of his own decades-long romance with his beloved wife deeply inspire them. Oona Chaplin and Jack Huston play the young Ira and his wife, whose wartime story is depicted alongside that of the modern day lovers.
